Purpose: See Article 1.06 Library under Code of Ordinances.
Duties:
The Groesbeck-Maffett Memorial Library Board shall administer and supervise the operation of the Library under the supervision and control of the mayor of the city and the city council.
Such Board may:
- Formulate such rules and regulations as it shall deem necessary for the orderly use of the library facilities and;
- Govern the performance of duties of the library employees and personnel. (Ordinance adopted 5/11/76, sec. 3).
The Board of Trustees shall have no power to obligate the City in any manner whatsoever.
Time Commitments:
Members must attend regularly scheduled meetings approximately 1 to 2 hours in duration.
Members:
The Board of Trustees shall consist of seven (7) members, to be appointed by the city council for the term of two (2) years. Five (5) members must be residents of City of Groesbeck and two (2) members at large within Limestone County.
Term:
Four (4) members are appointed during even-numbered years and three (3) are appointed during odd-numbered years. Term of appointment shall begin April 1 of the appropriate calendar year.
Meetings:
Regular meetings are typically held on the first Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m.
