Brenda Jackson was employed in October, 1977. Prior to becoming City Secretary, she served in the capacity of Police Secretary, Utility Billing Clerk, Payroll Clerk and Deputy City Secretary/Human Resource Director.

Brenda strives to provide to the citizens of Groesbeck the best professional and efficient service possible.

Mission: The City Secretary's office records, certifies, preserves, manages and makes accessible sufficient information to ensure continuity in government and the documented accountability of City of Groesbeck policies, functions, and transactions in order to protect both the legal and financial rights of the citizens of the City. The City Secretary's office also provides information to the public and helps the public locate government information maintained by and for the City in accordance with requirements established by law and by City Charter. In addition, the City Secretary's Office accepts applications to Boards and Commissions for future consideration.

This office provides a variety of information and/or services

  • Keeps accurate minutes of all official meetings of the City Council
  • Prepares City Council agendas and support material
  • Maintains, safeguards, and records all documents approved by the City Council, such as  resolutions, ordinances, and other legal documents of the City
  • Make available to the public the City records required by State law, as requested
  • Administers oath of office
  • Serves as the elections administrator for all City elections
  • Serves as Human Resource Manager for City Departments
  • Performs any and all other duties as may be required by the Mayor or City Council

  • Request to be placed on City Council Agenda
